Costume Design and Construction

I am a seamstress working professionally and just for fun! I learned how to sew during the pandemic and have been growing my skillset ever since. I have designed for my university, Lorton Workhouse, and worked in the costume shop on campus under Ameera Ansari.

Set design and construction

My first year of college at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, I worked in the scene shop under Preston Spence. I was lucky enough to co-design a set for the student production of “Everone Come’s to Rick’s” with Diana Altenhof. I have over a decade of carpentry experience thanks to my Dad, Neil Kirr.

Why Theatre?

I’ve known I would be an actress since the summer of 2013 when my mom signed me up for theatre camp. I complained all the way there and then fell in love with acting. Since then, I’ve appeared in twenty-two various shows including Pippin, Crazy For You, and Anne of Green Gables.

Apart from acting, I picked up some other skills in the theater. My favorite is designing and constructing costumes! I’ve also stage-managed, hung lights, constructed and dressed sets, and scenic painting. A jack-of-all-trades, but only for theatre.
